If you’re looking for that quintessential "small-town magic" where neighbors actually know each other's names and the hospitality is as warm as a fresh stack of pancakes, look no further than Kindred Days.

This annual celebration is more than just a street fair; it’s a weekend-long love letter to the community. Whether you're a local or just passing through the Red River Valley, here is everything you need to know about the most anticipated weekend of the summer.

Saturday Never Disappoints

🏃 Kick Off with a Hero’s Pace

The festivities start early Saturday morning with the Kindred Fire Hero 5K & Kids Run. Sponsored by the local fire department, this race is for everyone—you can run, walk, or even "stroll" your way through town.

  • New for 2025:  "Run with a Firefighter" Kids Run, a half-mile dash where the little ones can race alongside real-life heroes.

Breakfast with Wings

Post-race, head over to the Kindred Area Airport for the Pancake Breakfast. It’s the fuel you’ll need before the Parade kicks off on Elm Street. Be sure to enjoy the Airport's annual Fly- In and explore planes.

After the candy has been tossed and the floats have passed, car enthusiasts should migrate toward the Show N’ Shine Car Show. From vintage kit cars to modern dragsters, it’s a chrome-filled paradise.

🛍️ The Street Fair Experience

From 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, the downtown area transforms into a bustling vendor market.

  • The Maker’s Market: Shop local crafters, artists, and sellers.

  • Food Trucks line the Street offering a variety of food options.

  • Kids Corner: Expect inflatables, face painting at the library, and the ever-popular petting zoo.

Kids Pedal Pull: A fan favorite where kids (and competitive adults!) test their strength on miniature tractors to qualify for the State Pedal Pull.

🍺 Cheers to the Community

As the afternoon winds down, the adults head to the 6th Annual Beer Tasting Event. It’s a free event (21+) featuring a variety of local brewers, seltzers, and wines, accompanied by live music and the legendary cooler raffle.

Dance the Night Away

We ended the night with a Community Street Dance with music and comradery. Buffalo Alice brought the 90's back with their country throwback playlist and swagger. There was even a mechanical bull - fun for all ages.

Why We Love It

Kindred’s motto is "Kindness is a Way of Life," and this event proves it. It’s a weekend where the "RDO Day of Play" lets kids climb on tractors and the "Library Affair" keeps the storytelling tradition alive. It’s simple, heartfelt, and a whole lot of fun. It's rooted in agriculture and community. We can't wait for 2026!
